Joy Vanderway, DNP, MBA-HA, CPNP-AC, is a licensed acute care pediatric nurse practitioner in the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, a clinical partnership between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin. She specializes in caring for infants, children, and adolescents with congenital heart disease and defects.

Joy Vanderway earned her doctorate degree in nursing practice from the University of Illinois Chicago, where her doctoral project focus was on pediatric sepsis and improving outcomes through rapid response times. She also earned her master’s in nursing from Rush University.

Joy Vanderway has extensive experience in pediatric emergency medicine and, more recently, pediatric oncology and other subspecialty areas treated within ambulatory infusion centers. Her clinical interests include a focus on pediatric sepsis and shock management.

Joy Vanderway is an acute care pediatric nurse practitioner with UT Health Austin.
