Ana F. El-Behadli, PhD, is a licensed pediatric psychologist in UT Health Austin Pediatric Psychiatry at Dell Children's, a clinical partnership between Dell Children's Medical Center and UT Health Austin. She specializes in caring for children and adolescents with chronic medical illnesses. Additionally, Dr. El-Behadli is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences.
Dr. El-Behadli earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and her master’s in child study and human development from Tufts University. She completed an internship in clinical psychology at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and a fellowship in clinical psychology at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Dr. El-Behadli also serves patients and their families through Children’s Nephrology and Children’s Rheumatology, two specialty clinics at Dell Children’s Medical Center. She also provides outpatient services through the Texas Child Study Center and contributes to team-based telehealth consultation services through the Child Psychiatry Access Network (CPAN) and Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT) initiatives. Her research interests include studying diversity issues in pediatric psychology, particularly cultural adaptations and dissemination of evidence-based treatments to Spanish-speaking children and families. Her research has been recognized at a national level. She is a recipient of the American Psychological Association’s Award for Distinguished Professional Contributions to an Outstanding Graduate Student
as well as the Society of Pediatric Psychology’s C. Eugene Walker Education Award. She is also passionate about advancing clinical interventions supporting transition from pediatric to adult care for adolescents and young adults, and she currently serves as the Intervention Co-Chair for the Society of Pediatric Psychology’s Adolescent and Young Adult Special Interest Group.
