Bethany Hart, MPAS, PA-C, is a licensed physician assistant in the Cardiac Care Unit within the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, a clinical partnership between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin. She specializes in pediatric intensive care and cares for patients of all ages.
Bethany Hart earned her master’s in physician assistant studies from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and her bachelor’s in neuroscience from The University of Texas at Austin, where she graduated with honors. She also holds a certificate in social inequalities in public health and policy from The University of Texas at Austin.
Bethany Hart traveled to Elmhurst Hospital in 2020, where she worked with an emergency response team to treat critically ill Covid-19 patients. This experience inspired her to combine her knowledge of pediatrics with critical care medicine. She is also dedicated to furthering research that addressing inequalities in medicine, particularly those affecting early childhood. She has conducted independent research on a wide breadth of topics, including diagnosis of neuromuscular disorders in infants and early childhood development in low-resource rural settings. She is passionate about transgender health and her research on educating physician assistant students about caring for transgender patients has been presented at conferences internationally.
