Kartik Pillutla, MD, FAAP, is a board-certified pediatric nephrologist and the Medical Director of the Pediatric Kidney Transplant Program within the Pediatric Abdominal Transplant Center, a clinical partnership between Ascension Seton and UT Health Austin. He specializes in pediatric nephrology and provides care for children with kidney disease. Additionally, Dr. Pillutla is an assistant professor for the Dell Medical School Department of Pediatrics and serves as the Associate Program Director for the Dell Medical School Pediatric Residency program.
Dr. Pillutla earned his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He completed a residency in pediatrics at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and a fellowship in pediatric nephrology at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center.
Dr. Pillutla’s interests include pediatric kidney transplantation, pediatric chronic kidney disease, and quality improvement. He believes in the importance of family-centered care and enjoys establishing lasting relationships with patients and their families. He is also passionate about teaching clinicians in training. He is a member of the American Society of Nephrology, the American Society of Transplantation, and the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology.
