Clinical Biography

Levi DeFilipp, PsyD, is a licensed pediatric psychologist in UT Health Austin Pediatric Psychiatry at Dell Children's, a clinical partnership between Dell Children's Medical Center and UT Health Austin. Additionally, Dr. DeFilipp is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.

Dr. DeFilipp earned his Doctor of Psychology degree with a focus in clinical psychology from Nova Southeastern University, during which he pursued specialized pediatric mental health training at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia as part of his doctoral program, and his bachelor’s in integrated neuroscience from Binghamton University. He completed a residency in health services psychology at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School, where he received intensive training in the provision of mental health services in both inpatient and outpatient pediatric settings, and a fellowship in pediatric psychology at Norton Children’s Hospital/University of Louisville School of Medicine. As a post-doctoral fellow, he pursued specialized training in the provision of inpatient consultation-liaison services within a tertiary care children’s hospital and academic medical center. He was also involved in the in the evaluation and treatment of referrals for the Children’s Health and Illness and Recovery Program (CHIRP), an innovative manualized outpatient program employing and evidence-based manualized intervention for treating adolescents with chronic painful and fatiguing conditions.

Dr. DeFilipp serves patients and their families through the Children’s Blood and Cancer Center at Dell Children’s Medical Center. He also provides outpatient services through the Texas Child Study Center and contributes to team-based telehealth consultation services through the Child Psychiatry Access Network (CPAN) and Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT) initiatives. His research interests include pediatric eating disorders and manualized psychotherapy interventions for children, adolescents, and families.
