About This Program

Foregut Surgery is offered through Digestive Health, a clinical partnership between Ascension Seton and UT Health Austin.

The Foregut Surgery care team diagnoses, treats, and manages disorders of foregut (specifically the esophagus, stomach, and upper intestine), including heartburn and esophageal disorders, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Barrett’s esophagus, swallowing disorders, such as achalasia, hiatal hernias, esophageal cancer, and more, in adult patients (18 years and older). We use the latest technology to deliver specialized procedures for both benign (noncancerous) and malignant (cancerous) conditions and offer personalized treatment options with a focus on increasing your overall quality of life. We also offer preventative services, such as routine screenings and examinations, to reduce your risk for developing cancer and increase your chances of early detection.

Located in the clinical spaces at UT Health Austin with access to full-scale hospital resources, Foregut Surgery provides the most advanced treatments available for patients in Central Texas and beyond with a focus on patient-centered outcomes, cutting-edge research, and medical education.
