Anna Brauninger, MSN, APRN, CPNP-AC

Clinical Biography

Anna Brauninger, MSN, APRN, CPNP-AC, is a licensed acute care pediatric nurse practitioner in the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, a clinical partnership between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin. She specializes in caring for inpatient heart surgery patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively.

Anna Brauninger earned her bachelor’s in nursing from The University of Memphis and her master’s in nursing with a focus in acute care pediatrics from the University of South Alabama. She also earned her acute care pediatric nurse practitioner certification.

Anna Brauninger previously severed as a cardiac critical care nurse and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) primer at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, where she also received the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses for her commitment to providing high-quality, family-centered care to the pediatric patients she serves. Her clinical interests include caring for heart failure patients as well as assisting with ventricular assist devices and ECMO. She has publications in both the Journal of Pediatric Surgical Nursing and the Journal of Interactive CardioVascular and Thoracic Surgery, and she is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society.
