Clinical Biography
Elizabeth Lion, MD, is a board-certified general pediatrician in Dell Children’s Medical Group Pediatrics Mueller, a clinical partnership between Dell Children's Medical Center and UT Health Austin. She specializes in caring for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults.
Dr. Lion earned her bachelor's degree from New York University and her medical degree with a focus on integrative medicine from the George Washington University School of Medicine. She completed both an internship and residency in pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine, where she was designated Pediatric Resident of the Year by the Baylor College of Medicine chapter of the American Medical Women’s Association.
Dr. Lion formerly served as a pediatrician for the greater Denver pediatric population within a local, not-for-profit medical home. She was also appointed a volunteer clinical instructor at The University of Colorado School of Medicine. From there, she moved to southern California, where she began to focus on quality improvement projects aimed at standardizing evidence-based practices within her new organization and affiliated hospitals. She also developed a framework for maintaining well-child and acute care for the pediatric community during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, she has joined committees focused on nutrition, community health advocacy, and mental health within the Texas Pediatric Society and is a member of the Legislation and Policy Pillar of the Dell Children’s Medical Center Pediatric Advocacy Committee.
Dr. Lion's clinical interests include best practice and quality improvement initiatives, expanding mental health services within primary care, and physician outreach to community organizations and school-based settings. She is excited to bring her clinical experience and passion for underserved medicine to Dell Children’s Medical Group Pediatrics Mueller and plans to continue to focus on improving health literacy and outcomes for pediatric patients and their families.
