Clinical Biography
Eman K. Rettig, PsyD is a licensed clinical psychologist and pediatric neuropsychologist in UT Health Austin Pediatric Neurosciences at Dell Children’s Medical Center, a clinical partnership between Dell Children's Medical Center and UT Health Austin. She specializes in treating pediatric patients with medical and neurological conditions that can affect brain/central nervous system development and functioning. She conducts both inpatient and outpatient neuropsychological evaluations in the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit and within the Pediatric Neuropsychology Clinic, respectively. Additionally, Dr. Rettig is an assistant professor at The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School in the Department of Neurology.
Dr. Rettig earned her master’s degree in clinical psychology and a doctorate in psychology at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. She completed her pre-doctoral internship in pediatric neuropsychology at The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School and Dell Children’s Medical Center. She went on to complete her post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
Dr. Rettig commonly treats patients with anoxia/hypoxia, brain tumors and cancers, encephalitis, meningitis, ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, traumatic brain injuries, and more; she also assesses for and considers commonly co-occurring neurodevelopmental disorders such as attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and learning disabilities. Dr. Rettig is committed to the scientist-practitioner model with the goal of providing evidence-based care. Her research interests include acquired and traumatic brain injuries, epilepsy, health literacy, and the efficacy of neuropsychological evaluations and feedback. She is also a clinical educator who mentors neuropsychology trainees.
