Gabriel Garza, MD

Clinical Biography

Gabriel Garza, MD, is a board-certified pediatric psychiatrist in UT Health Austin Pediatric Psychiatry at Dell Children's, a clinical partnership between Dell Children's Medical Center and UT Health Austin. He specializes in outpatient psychiatric care for the pediatric population. Additionally, Dr. Garza is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and serves as the Program Director for the Dell Medical School Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Program.

Dr. Garza earned his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, where he was recognized for demonstrating excellence in clinical care, leadership, compassion and dedication to service. He completed a residency in psychiatry as well as a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. During his time at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, he was an active participant in medical student teaching, served as Chief Fellow, and received numerous awards for service excellence and dedication to patient care.

Dr. Garza is a member of the American Association of Directors of Psychiatric Residency Training, American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the Texas Society of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians, the Travis County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, and the American Psychological Association. He has been presented with the Child and Adolescent Faculty of the Year award as well as multiple Outstanding Service as a Preceptor awards from The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing.

Dr. Garza is a pediatric psychiatrist with UT Health Austin.
