Clinical Biography
Hirsh D. Trivedi, MD, MS, is a board-certified gastroenterologist and transplant hepatologist in Digestive Health, a clinical partnership between Ascension and UT Health Austin. He specializes in the management of acute and chronic liver diseases. Additionally, Dr. Trivedi is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Internal Medicine at The University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Trivedi earned his medical degree from Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute and his master’s degree in epidemiology from T.H. Harvard Chan School of Public Health. He completed both an internship and residency in internal medicine at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center and Tufts University School of Medicine. He also completed a fellowship in general hepatology, gastroenterology and hepatology, and transplant hepatology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He completed advanced training in transplant hepatology and subsequently served as a transplant hepatologist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he cared for patients across the liver transplant continuum and conducted clinical trials in metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). During his time at Cedars-Sinai, he consistently ranked in the top 10% of his peers for patient satisfaction.
Dr. Trivedi has a strong interest in clinical research, supported by an NIH T32 research fellowship. He was recognized with the Transplant Hepatology Fellow Award from the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases for his research contributions. He remains actively engaged in the field as a journal reviewer, speaker, and clinical researcher, and is a member of international societies including the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society of Transplantation, and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.
