Clinical Biography
Jamie Penk, MD, MSCI, is a board-certified pediatric cardiac critical care intensivist in the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, a clinical partnership between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin. He specializes in pediatric cardiac intensive care.
Dr. Penk earned his master's degree in clinical investigation from Northwestern University and his medical degree from Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine. He trained in pediatrics during his residency at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. completed a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Northwestern University, and a fellowship in pediatric critical care at Children’s National Hospital.
Dr. Penk has extensive experience caring for children at multiple hospitals and has actively contributed to medical mission work throughout his career. He is involved in research and projects that aim to improve the quality of care for his patients. His areas of focus include helping children with acute kidney problems, managing sedation and withdrawal, treating delirium, reducing hospital stays, and using point-of-care ultrasound to guide treatment.
Dr. Penk is a pediatric cardiac critical care intensivist with UT Health Austin.
