Jamie W. Sinton, MD, is a board-certified anesthesiologist and pediatric anesthesiologist in Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, a clinical partnership between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin. She specializes in anesthetic and perioperative care for children and adults with congenital and acquired heart disease during cardiac, non-cardiac, and imaging procedures. Additionally, Dr. Sinton is an associate professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at The University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Sinton earned both her bachelor’s degree in mathematics and biology and medical degree from The Ohio State University. She completed an internship in internal medicine at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital and a residency in anesthesiology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. She completed a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and a fellowship in anesthesiology at Texas Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Sinton’s clinical interests include caring for children and adults with congenital heart disease who are at elevated risk of complications during anesthesia. She is dedicated to improving safety for patients undergoing inhalation induction of anesthesia and works closely with colleagues across the intensive care unit. Her research focuses on the autonomic nervous system’s role in the development of bradycardia in children undergoing inhalation induction of general anesthesia with sevoflurane, as well as autonomic and vascular responses to antihypertensives in patients following intensive care unit admission for heart failure and aortic surgery.

Dr. Sinton is a pediatric cardiac anesthesiologist with UT Health Austin.
