Clinical Biography
Jennifer Hughes, MD, FAAP, is a board-certified pediatrician within the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, a clinical partnership between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin. She specializes in the acute care of hospitalized children, pediatric consultation, and the coordination of care of pediatric patients with complex medical conditions during their hospitalization. Additionally, Dr. Hughes is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Pediatrics.
Dr. Hughes earned her medical degree from Albany Medical College through a six-year accelerated bachelor of science/medical degree program in partnership with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of California, Irvine.
Dr. Hughes is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Her clinical interests include medical education and wellness. She is a recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award from the Dell Medical School Academy of Distinguished Educators.
Dr. Hughes is a pediatric hospitalist with Dell Children's Medical Center.
