Clinical Biography
Josh Shaffer, MD, is an obstetrician-gynecologist in Women’s Health, a clinical partnership between Ascension Seton and UT Health Austin. Additionally, Dr. Shaffer is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Women’s Health at The University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Shaffer earned his medical degree from The Medical University of South Carolina. He completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology residency at the Dell Medical School, where he served as chief resident.
Dr. Shaffer is dedicated to serving the Central Texas community by delivering high-quality, evidence-based, and accessible patient care while advancing medical education. His clinical interests in general obstetrics and gynecology include access to contraception, minimally invasive gynecological surgery, preventative care, and obstetrics. His research focuses on medical student education, medical student and resident wellness, and expanding patient access to medical information
