Clinical Biography
Kenneth Shaffer, MD, is a board-certified pediatric cardiologist in the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, a clinical partnership between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin. He specializes in general pediatric cardiology with a special focus on pediatric and adult congenital heart disease. Additionally, Dr. Shaffer is an affiliate faculty member in both the Dell Medical School Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care and the Dell Medical School Department of Pediatrics.
Dr. Shaffer earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He completed a residency in pediatrics at Wilford Hall United States Air Force Medical Center and a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Texas Children’s Hospital. He also earned a Health Technology Certificate from The University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Shaffer holds several active leadership roles in both the American College of Cardiology and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He also serves as the President/Governor of the Texas Chapter of the American College of Cardiology.
