Clinical Biography

Mackenzie Field, MSN, APRN, AGACNP-BC, is a licensed acute care adult gerontology nurse practitioner in the Institute for Cardiovascular Health, a clinical partnership between Ascension Seton and UT Health Austin. She specializes in caring for inpatient heart surgery patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively. Her clinical interests include caring for post-cardiac surgery patients in collaboration with intensive care nurses.

Mackenzie Field earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from The University of Texas at Austin and her master’s degree in nursing with a focus on acute care adult-gerontology from the University of Texas at Arlington. She also earned her acute care adult gerontology nurse practitioner certification. Mackenzie Field previously served as a critical care nurse caring for post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including patients supported on all mechanical circulatory support devices, and heart transplant recipients. She also received the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses for her commitment to providing high-quality, family-centered care to the adult patients she serves.

Mackenzie Field is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Texas Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma Theta Tau-Epsilon Chapter.
