Mallika Choudhury, LMSW

Clinical Biography

Mallika Choudhury, LMSW, is a licensed master social worker in UT Health Austin Pediatric Psychiatry at Dell Children’s, a clinical partnership between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin. She specializes in child and adolescent mental health, with a focus on trauma-informed care and family support.

Mallika Choudhury earned both her bachelor’s degree in human development and family studies and her master's degree in social work from the University of Houston. She also completed the Global Leaders of Behavioral Health Education (GLOBE) fellowship at the University of Houston, where she was recognized for her clinical skill, leadership potential, and dedication to serving vulnerable populations.

Mallika Choudhury has a strong foundation in clinical practice and policy advocacy and is committed to advancing equitable access to mental health care and social services. Her experience includes providing counseling, crisis intervention, and psychosocial support to children and families navigating complex medical, social, and emotional challenges. She has worked directly with at-risk youth in school and community settings, helping them build emotional resilience, access resources, and develop coping and self-advocacy skills. In addition, she has supported families experiencing homelessness, strengthening her ability to guide clients through major life transitions. She contributes to team-based telehealth consultation services through the Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT) initiatives, expanding access to behavioral health support for children across Texas. Her professional interests include trauma-informed, strengths-based care, integrating evidence-based practices in multidisciplinary settings, and improving mental health access for underserved populations. She brings a compassionate, culturally attuned approach and strives to bridge clinical practice with collaborative systems of care to help children and families thrive.
