Mark Gajjar, MD, is a board-certified interventional and structural cardiologist in the Institute for Cardiovascular Health, a clinical partnership between UT Health Austin and Ascension Seton. He specializes in transcatheter (minimally invasive) procedures to treat coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and cardiovascular stroke and serves as the Director of the Bicuspid Aortic Valve and Cardiovascular Stroke (PFO/ASD) Programs. Additionally, Dr. Gajjar is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Gajjar received his bachelor's and medical degrees at the University of Illinois and completed his residency in internal medicine at he University of Chicago. He then completed his fellowship training in cardiovascular diseases and interventional/structural cardiology at Northwestern University.

Dr. Gajjar's clinical and research interests are in valvular heart diseases, coronary artery disease, cardiovascular stroke, atrial septal defects/patent foramen ovale, bicuspid aortic valve, and structural cardiology. His personal mission is to bring advanced cardiovascular care to underserved areas in South Central Texas.
