Clinical Biography
Michael Chomat, MD, is a board certified pediatric critical care intensivist with the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, a clinical partnership between Dell Children's Medical Center and UT Health Austin. Additionally, Dr. Chomat is board certified in all three specialties pediatrics, pediatric cardiology, and pediatric critical care medicine. He has a special interest in the use of point of care ultrasound in the cardiac intensive care unit. He also serves as Assistant Professor of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics at The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School.
Dr. Chomat earned an undergraduate degree in biochemistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed his medical training at the University of Virginia. He completed his residency at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in general pediatrics. Subsequently he completed fellowships in both pediatric cardiology and pediatric critical care at Washington University in Saint Louis/St. Louis Children's Hospital.
