Clinical Biography
Patrick Woodson, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker in the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, a clinical partnership between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin. He specializes in providing clinical social work services to patients with congenital heart disease and their families.
Patrick Woodson earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville and his master’s degree in social work from the University of Georgia School of Social Work. He was afforded the opportunity to work with at-risk youth and their families in connection with the Department of Children and Families.
Patrick Woodson has experience working with diverse populations in the hospital setting. He formerly served as a clinical social worker and case manager at Tampa General Hospital, the only Level 1 Trauma Center in West Central Florida providing treatment to adult and pediatric patients with critical injuries and the largest hospital in the Tampa Bay region. During his time at Tampa General Hospital, he provided services for a multitude of patients across the socioeconomic spectrum due to the hospital’s role as the regional safety net hospital, meaning the hospital provided care to all individuals regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay for hospital services. This experience ignited a passion within him to provide services for patients and their families who may not have access to adequate resources as well as those patients and families who encounter barriers to proper health care access.
Patrick Woodson is a clinical social worker with UT Health Austin.
