Clinical Biography
Peter Gilbreath, MD, is a board-certified pediatric hospitalist in the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, a clinical partnership between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin. He specializes in the acute care of hospitalized children, pediatric consultation, referral services, and the coordination of care of pediatric patients with complex medical conditions during their hospitalization. Additionally, Dr. Gilbreath is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Pediatrics.
Dr. Gilbreath earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School and his bachelor’s in microbiology from the University of Washington. He completed a residency in pediatrics at the Dell Medical School, where he was chief resident.
Dr. Gilbreath’s academic interests include medical learner education, inpatient quality/process improvement, patient safety, and electronic medical record optimization. His clinical interests include working with the diverse mix of medical complexities and cultural backgrounds he encounters at Dell Children’s Medical Center.
Dr. Gilbreath is a pediatric hospitalist with UT Health Austin.
