Peter Monteleone, MD, FACC, FSCAI, is a board-certified cardiologist in the Institute for Cardiovascular Health, a clinical partnership between Ascension Seton and UT Health Austin. He specializes in interventional cardiology, vascular medicine, and endovascular intervention. He directs the cardiac catheterization laboratories at Ascension Seton Medical Center and serves as the Director of Cardiovascular Research for the Ascension Healthcare system nationally. Additionally, Dr. Monteleone is the the Program Director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship in the Dell School of Medicine Department of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Monteleone earned an undergraduate degree in molecular biology at Harvard College and a medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency training and served as a chief resident at the University of Virginia. He also obtained a master’s degree in clinical research while at UVA. He completed a cardiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. He completed an interventional cardiology fellowship as well as advanced fellowship training in vascular medicine and intervention at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Monteleone previously served as faculty at the University of Virginia and Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Monteleone’s research interests include clinical trial performance, outcomes, and novel device development in peripheral vascular and cardiovascular medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, a fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, and a member of the International Andreas Gruentzig Society.
