Clinical Biography
Sarah M. Smith, MD, is a board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist for the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, a clinical partnership between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin. She is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care. Dr. Smith provides care for and administers anesthesia to neonates, children, and adults who have been diagnosed with congenital heart disease.
Dr. Smith earned her medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. She completed a general pediatrics residency at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford before pursuing anesthesiology training. She completed a residency in anesthesiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at the Children’s Hospital of Colorado, and an instructorship in pediatric cardiovascular anesthesiology at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas.
She is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia, the Congenital Cardiac Anesthesia Society, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Smith is a board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist with UT Health Austin.
