Sarah Schoffstall, PhD, is a licensed child and adolescent psychologist in UT Health Austin Pediatric Psychiatry at Dell Children’s. She specializes in working with patients who are deaf and head of hearing. Additionally, Dr. Schoffstall is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences.
Dr. Schoffstall earned her doctorate in school psychology and her master’s in educational psychology, both focusing on child clinical psychology and serving deaf and hard of hearing communities, from The University of Texas at Austin as well as her bachelor ’s in psychology from Duke University. She completed an internship in psychology at Hartford Hospital’s Institute of Living/Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, where she received intensive training in acute psychiatric and pediatric mental health services through rotations in the child/adolescent inpatient unit, on-campus therapeutic school, and the pediatric consultation liaison service, and a fellowship in psychology at Boston Children’s Hospital’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program, where she received specialized training in comprehensive evaluation and consultation services for deaf patients.
Dr. Schoffstall previously served as a school psychologist at The Learning Center for the Deaf, a multi-service organization serving deaf communities. She currently serves patients and their families through the Otolaryngology and Cystic Fibrosis specialty clinics at Dell Children’s Medical Center. She also provides outpatient services through the Texas Child Studies Center and contributes team-based telehealth consultation services through the Child Psychiatry Access Network (CPAN) and Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT) initiatives.
