Sharyl Wee, PhD, is a licensed pediatric psychologist in UT Health Austin Pediatric Psychiatry at Dell Children's, a clinical partnership between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin. She specializes in the treatment and assessment of children and adolescents with a range of concerns, including eating disorders, anxiety, phobias, depression, trauma, autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), tics and Tourette’s disorder, and trichotillomania; parent management training with parents and families; group therapy with children and adolescents; neurodevelopmental assessments; and evidence-based and culturally informed approaches in treatment with families. Additionally, Dr. Wee is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Wee earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from The University of British Columbia, and both her master’s degree and doctorate in clinical psychology from Southern Methodist University. She completed an internship in clinical psychology with a focus on community mental health at Washburn Center for Children and a post-doctoral fellowship in clinical child psychology with a focus on pediatric eating disorders at Children's Medical Center Dallas. During her fellowship, she received specialized training in family-based treatment for eating disorders, as well as cognitive behavioral therapy and exposure and response prevention for emetophobia.

Dr. Wee contributes to team-based telehealth consultation services through the Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT) initiatives, providing clinical expertise to the care team and offering therapy and evaluations for individuals and families enrolled in TCHATT. Her research interests include family and parenting factors in pediatric eating disorder treatment, improving accessibility to the prevention and treatment of eating disorders, family and parenting factors related to children’s mental health, and vagus nerve stimulation for increasing nervous system regulation and treating treatment-resistant conditions in pediatric populations.
