Sheri L Balsara, MD, MSE

Clinical Biography

Sheri Balsara, MD, MSE, is a board-certified pediatrician and pediatric cardiologist in the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, a clinical partnership between Dell Children's Medical Center and UT Health Austin. She specializes in pediatric cardiac intensive care and serves as an attending physician in the Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Unit. Additionally, Dr. Balsara is as an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at The University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Balsara earned both her bachelor's degree and master's degree in bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania and her medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She completed an internship and residency in general pediatrics at Children's National Hospital and both a fellowship in cardiology and an advanced fellowship in cardiac critical care at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Dr. Balsara's clinical and research interests include congenital heart disease, single ventricle heart disease, and teaching. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Heart Association, and The Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society.
