Alan “Wade” Mincher, MD

Clinical Biography

Alan “Wade” Mincher, MD, is a board-certified pediatric hospitalist in the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, a clinical partnership between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin. He specializes in caring for children that require hospitalization for acute, chronic, common, and complex medical conditions that require specialty management. Additionally, Dr. Mincher is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Pediatrics.

Dr. Mincher earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. He completed both a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric hospital medicine at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center – Austin. He has completed additionally training in both quality and process improvement as well as pediatric pain management.

Dr. Mincher’s clinical interests include pediatric pain management, specifically in the areas of acute, chronic, and procedural pain. He is currently involved in multiple initiatives to improve pain management at Dell Children’s Medical Center, where he is also working with a multidisciplinary group to develop and establish a pain program. He is a member of the International Association for the Study of Pediatric Pain, the Society of Pediatric Pain Management, and the Texas Pediatric Society, which is the Texas Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Mincher is a pediatric hospitalist with Dell Children's Medical Center.
