About This Clinic

The HOPE (History of Preterm Birth Evaluation) Clinic is available as a part of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, which is offered through Women’s Health, a clinical partnership between Ascension Seton and UT Health Austin.

The HOPE Clinic provides care to women with a history of preterm birth (delivery of a baby prior to 37 weeks of gestation) by offering postpartum and early pregnancy consultations and closely monitoring high-risk patients throughout their pregnancy.

Treatment Approach

During your consultation, we will examine factors that may lead to preterm delivery and provide you with a diagnosis. You will receive guidance for managing these factors in future pregnancies based on the latest research findings.

Areas of focus include:

  • Education about preterm labor and birth
  • Risk factors for preterm birth
  • Preterm birth prevention strategies
  • A personalized plan for future pregnancies
  • Digital and hard copies of subsequent pregnancy plans
  • Early Maternal-Fetal Medicine care in future pregnancies

Patients are cared for by a dedicated multidisciplinary care team, meaning you and your baby will benefit from the expertise of multiple specialists across a variety of disciplines. Our board-certified and fellowship-trained maternal-fetal medicine specialists have extensive experience with complex and high-risk pregnancy and work alongside a team of women’s health experts, including obstetrician-gynecologists, fetal specialists, advanced practice providers, genetic counselors, sonographers, nurses, case coordinators, and more, providing unparalleled care for patients and their families every step of the way. We also collaborate closely with referring physicians and other partners in the community.

Appointment Information

Consultations are available both in person and through telehealth.
